Music Intent Statement

At Brierley Forest Primary and Nursery school, the intention is that children gain an understanding of what music is through listening, composing, analysing, evaluating, and performing. This will be supported by being exposed to music from around the world and across generations, teaching children to respect and appreciate of all traditions and communities.Our aim is to provide children with opportunities to build on key skills such as bravery, determination and resilience through listening, composing and performing music. We encourage children to explore their musical talents, develop a curiosity for the subject and a love for music through a variety of different opportunities and contexts.
