Why a residential?
Residentials are an important part of the offer at Brierley Forest for children in Year 4 and 5. They provide an opportunity for our children to stay away from home with people who they know and trust, and who care for them, a chance to experience risk taking, building a deeper sense of belonging and resilience, forging relationships and getting to see staff in a different light.
We know that there is a significant cost to residentials, so we always look to pay at least half of the cost and often more to make it affordable for our families. Children do not need specialist equipment or clothes - in fact older clothes are much better!
Our residentials are totally inclusive, if you have a concern about your child going, please talk to Mrs Smedley so that we can work together to make the residential happen for your child.
Look out for the invite to the initial meeting for children and families each autumn term.
Year 4, Mill Base Adventure 2022
Each year, our Year 4 children gone on a 2 day residential to the Mill Base Adventure. There they get to experience abseiling, climbing wall, zip line, kayaking, raft building and many more. Can you see your child amongst the pictures?
