History Intent

At Brierley Forest Primary and Nursery School we are committed to providing pupils’ with a good quality History education which builds on their knowledge and understanding of historical events of Britain, the local area and the wider world. 

Our History teaching supports children to develop key historical skills including; asking questions, thinking critically, weighing evidence, sifting arguments and developing perspectives and judgements.

In History we embed our values by developing children’s understanding of different lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups along with their own identity and challenges of their time.
