Brierley Forest Primary and Nursery School is thrilled to announce they have officially opened their new Early Years Foundation Stage Outdoor Area.
The project has been in the design process for a long time with the EYFS carefully designing a new area to meet all of our children's needs. This has then been completed over the spring term 2025 and will provide a transformative learning environment for our school's youngest pupils.
The original EYFS area had begun to look tired and the resources available limited children's learning opportunities.
The new area has been designed to enrich children's learning and development in all areas on a daily basis. It now boasts a range of exciting new features, including a mud kitchen, planting and digging areas, a large sandpit and smaller tray, climbing frame, stage, storytelling chair, music area, imagination station, construction area, water wall and area and new canopies that allow children to access the space all year round, regardless of the weather. The installation of new artificial grass and wetpour flooring ensures that the area is safe and accessible for all the pupils.
