Why can't all animals live in Africa? (Spring 2)

Why can't all animals live in Africa?

During this project we will enjoy, share and discuss a range of texts/themes relating to our question “Why can’t all animals live in Africa?” We will start by finding out where Africa is and comparing this to where we live. We will then look at different animals from around the world including African animals, Arctic animals and Minibeasts and discuss their similarities and differences. Learning about why they live in their own habitat and how to care for them when they do not. We will look at the lifecycle of caterpillars through looking after our own and take a virtual trip to the zoo/wildlife park, to find out some more about all the different types of animals in the world. By the end of the project, we will be able to answer our project question by discussing all the facts we have learned about the different   animals and putting these into a class fact file through our Literacy.

Why are there animals in our outside area?

Where have they come from?
