What makes me special? (Autumn 1)

What makes me special?

This half-term we have been learning all about what makes us us and why that makes us special.

We have learnt that we are all...

That means we are one of a kind.

We thought all about what we look like and the similarities and differences between ourselves and our families.

Some of us even made ourselves using play dough.

In F2 we love to sing, this term we have learnt the words to a few songs.

We learnt a song all about families.

We even learned the makaton action for family, ask your child what it is.

As part of our project, we have been thinking about what we might want to be when we are older.

We had some "Visitors" into our school to tell us about their jobs and what they did to help us decide.

We asked them lots of questions but the most common one of all was...

"Where did you park your car?"

SSHH! Don't tell the children it was just Mrs Cobley in Disguise.

The children had a great time, I have never seen them laugh so much.

After the "visitors" had gone, some of the children then used the costumes and props to dress up themselves and pretend to do the different jobs.

We had learning street come into school and we learnt all about different occupations. We got the chance to pretend to be police officers, vets, construction workers and paleontologists!
