Welcome to Year 4, The Astronomers! I'm Miss Plaskitt.
We are all buckled in for one fantastic year so make sure to keep checking back to see what exciting projects we have planned!
This term in maths we will be focusing on measurement and statistics, as well as consolidating learning done remotely. Our learning will include money, time and recording and reading data in different formats.
In English, we will be writing to entertain, writing stories with a focus on our new book 'The Journey'. We will also be trying our best to remember basic punctuation and spellings.
In our Friday science lessons, we will investigate electricity. We will be designing and making our own circuits and learning to identify different symbols to represent components of a circuit.
Our project question this half term has a creative focus and is: 'what does art tell us about the past?' we will be looking at different forms of art through time, including creating our own pieces!
Weekly spellings are available on Spelling Shed, we have spelling tests every Friday. Over on MyMaths and PurpleMash you will find weekly tasks based on the recent work we have been completing in class - your child's logins are still the same! Dojos will be awarded to the children that complete these tasks each week.
Each half term a group of children will be selected from our class to take part in an enrichment activity. This half term, children are taking part in Forest Schools. This will happen Wednesday afternoons and the selected children will need to come to school in clothes suitable for the activity.
