My name is Mr Wood and I will be working hard to help children re-cap knowledge and fill gaps from the time they have lost.
There will be many challenges ahead but I'm confident we can all work through them together and come out stronger than before.
I look forward to an exciting and fun-filled rest of the year with the Year 4's!
This term in maths we will be focusing on Measurement/statistics and consolidating learning done remotely.
In English, we will be looking at writing to entertain, writing stories with a focus on our new book 'The Journey'. We will also be trying our best to remember basic punctuation and spellings.
In our Friday science lessons, we will investigate Electricity and designing/making our own circuits.
Our project question this half term has a creative focus and is: 'What does art tell us about the past?'
Weekly spellings are available on Spelling Shed and will be handed out on a Friday with a test the following week. Over on MyMaths and PurpleMash you will find weekly tasks based on the recent work we have been completing in class - your child's logins are still the same! Dojos will be awarded to the children that complete these tasks each week.
Each half term a group of children will be selected from our class to take part in an enrichment activity. This half term, children are taking part in our Forest School programme. This will happen every Wednesday afternoon and the selected children will need to come to school in clothes suitable for the activity.
