On Thursday 9th November the boys football team played against Orchard Primary. They played well but unfortunately they didn't get the win! Well done to all of the boys involved!

On Wednesday 8th November a group of year 3 and 4 children took part in an Athletics event.

They all put 100% effort in to all the events they were asked to take part in and we were very proud of them. Thanks to all the parents that came to support us too!

Well done to the girls football team who played their second match this week. They showed a much improved performance from their previous game and were a lot more confident which was shown in their 7-2 win! A special mention to the goal scorers, Grace Booth(1) and Holly Thompson (6).

Both the girls and boys football after school football clubs have now been extended so they are finishing at 4.30pm!

In the girls first football match they showed great determination and fought hard in their match against Kingsway. Unfortunately, they didn't get the result they wanted. Congratulations to Hollie Thompson for a great goal.

On Thursday 29th October the yr5/6 boys football team played their first match against Kingsway. They played extremely well together despite losing 5-4. Congratulations to all the goal scorers: Brooklyn Wright scored 1, Adam Sharman scored 1 and Anthony Oladjeio scored an impressive 2.

2017 - 2018

On Wednesday 10th May a group of Key Stage 2 children went to Ashfield School to take part in a range of multi-skill activities. They Practiced lots of skills including an obstacle course, jumping and throwing and catching! They all had a great time!

On Friday 21st April the year5/6 basketball team played a mini tournament against Mapplewells. They won 4 quarters but ultimately lost. Well done to everyone on the team.

A fantastic effort by the year 3/4 Futsal Team led to a 2nd place finish. Congratulations team!

Girls Football Team

 

On Monday 7th November the girls football team played a match against Kirkby Woodhouse. Unfortunately we lost 7-3. Lucy scored1, Alaya scored1 and Anna scored 1. Anna's goal was amazing, she ran the entire length of the pitch to score! Layla was girl of the match.

Well done girls.

On Thursday the 3rd November the girls football team played a match against Kingsway school. We won 3-2. Holly scored 2 and Alaya scored as well. Well done girls! The girl of the match was Holly.

ice- skating Year 6 enjoyed a free ice-skating session at Lammas Centre

On Monday 14th, the football team played in the cup against St Mary's. Where they won! They are now through to the next round. Well done to all of the boys for their excellent performance.

On Wednesday 9th March our basketball team were once again in competition. They played against ST Mary's School, Leamington and Croft.

We came an incredible 2nd!

Well done basketball team.

On Friday 4th December we hosted a basketball tournament for 4 schools in our sports hall. The team played really well and we look forward to more games in the spring term.

On Monday our year 5/6 boys football team played Morven Park in the Local cup where they won 3-1! They are now through to the next round. Well done to the goal scorers, William Halfpenny and Benjamin Holmes, who was also MAN OF THE MATCH.

On Monday 12th October a group of children went to take part in a tennis tournament. The team came in 4th place! Well done to all who took part.

Cross country

 

On the 8th October a mix of year 5 and year 6 girls/boys went to Ashfield school to take part in a cross country event.

Despite doing really well we didn't come in the top 3 schools.

 

Everyone was outstanding and gave their best!

A special mention to Evie Dickinson in year 5, who did brilliantly!!

The first tournament of the season was played on Wednesday 29th September.

Our first match was against;

St Marys we lost 2-1

then against

Morvern park we lost 3-2

and finally

Annesley we drew 2-2

A super effort by all of the team!

A special mention to Kristian (yr5) who played superbly throughout each match.

Huge congratulations to our outstanding Football Team,  runner ups in the District cup!

Alaya Price (year 4) was awarded three trophies from her football team. Alaya plays for Mansfield Town Ladies, under 11's.

 

The trophies were awarded for, Player of the season, Parents player of the season and Managers player of the season.

On Tuesday 2nd June, a group of year 5 and year 6 children went to a cricket tournament at Mansfield Hosiery Mills. They played 4 games, where they worked really well as a team, but unfortunately only won 1 game. This was a good start for their first tournament and are showing good signs for the future!

Team Boccia

 

 

On Thursday 30th April, Team Boccia went to the qualifying finals and once again won all their matches!

They were awarded medals for winning Sutton Area Qualifier for Ashfield District School Sports Network. They will now be representing the District at the finals.

 

 

 

Brierley Forest v Broomhill 23.04.15

 

Congratulations to our amazing football team on their 1-1 draw against Broomhill.Led by Team Captain Tyler Newton, they hung on to a draw after a thrilling goal by Jamie Stone!

Undefeated in the district league, Brierley Forest are now winners of the league!!

Our amazing Boccia Team won all 4 qualifying matches, putting them through to the final on Thursday 30th April.

On the 26th March the year 4 football team took part in a Futsal tournament at Sutton Academy in the finals. The first game we won 2-0 against Orchard. The second game was against Movern Park, unfortunatly, despite playing great, we lost 1-0. The thitd match we lost against Croft, 3-2. However, in the last game against Leen Mills we won 3-1.

 

 

Overall we won BRONZE medal in the tournament and THIRD overall.

On the 25th March the netball team played against Annesley in a thrilling match. Thanks to goals scorers Sophie Knowles, Ross Cortez and Christian Elliot the team enjoyed their first win of the season!
